Randolph, Massachusetts is part of Norfolk County.  Settled in 1710, the town was officially incorporated in 1793. Randolph grew to prominence due to the town’s shoe manufacturing industry and by the late 1800s; Randolph was a top site for boot production. The rise in industry caused a population boom, bringing Boston families who settled into the area, but commuted to nearby Boston. As the shoe manufacturing industry declined, Randolph’s population influx did not decrease. Instead, the town’s population growth ebbed and flowed throughout 1950 to 1970. Today, Randolph is a large town of approximately y 30,000 residents.
